This is a look back at a past event: on August 8, 2026, at the invitation of the Tohoku Institute of Technology Software Engineer Study Group, we held our first hands-on session as the MapConductor circle. We first met the study group when MapConductor exhibited at the Open Source Conference Sendai, where their representative, Mr. Saito, invited us.

Since it was our first session, ambassador MASUMORI Toshiaki and supporter YAMAGUCHI Akiho also came out to Sendai to help support the workshop.

Because the members belong to a software engineer study group at an institute of technology, even those new to React were comfortable with coding itself, and we were amazed at their skill — the fastest participants finished the prepared exercises after only about three hours with MapConductor. In the end, every participant got the experience of displaying a map to a reasonable degree, and they seemed to enjoy it. Since they have real coding skills, I would like to find the right occasion to hold this again on a continuing basis.

Mr. Saito of the Software Engineer Study Group is still helping with MapConductor activities today. Our structure is not yet fully in place, but we want to expand the community while adding new members.

A lively, friendly workshop
