Privacy Policy
This describes what mapconductor.com, run by the MapConductor project (“we”), collects, what it does not collect, and how it is handled. It describes what the software actually does, and nothing more.

Who runs this site
The site is run by the MapConductor project. We can be reached at info@mkgeeklab.com. The servers are operated in Japan.
When you only read the site
There is no analytics. No measurement tag — Google Analytics or anything like it — is loaded. No cookie is set to identify visitors; cookies are used only in the administration area we sign in to ourselves. Site search runs entirely in your browser, so what you type is never sent to a server.
In normal operation the web server does not record an access log. We may turn one on temporarily to investigate a fault or abuse; what it then records is the IP address, the timestamp, the page requested and the browser type. It goes to the server's log output and is not otherwise accumulated or analysed.
Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. Because of that, opening a page makes your browser connect to Google's servers, and Google receives your IP address and the font requested. That transfer is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
What the contact form sends
When you submit the form, the following reaches us as an email.
- the name, email address, subject and message you typed
- your IP address and browser type (User-Agent), and the URL and language of the page you sent from
How inquiries are handled
What you send lives as an email in our Gmail mailbox. It is not stored in the site's database. Your address is used to reply to you and for nothing else — no marketing, no mailing list. It is never sold or handed to anyone.
Besides being included in the email, your IP address is counted in the server's memory for about an hour to stop repeated automated submissions. It is not stored.
Inquiry emails are deleted once they are no longer needed. They remain in the mailbox for as long as the correspondence needs them.
What is sent out for machine translation
An inquiry written in a language other than Japanese or English is machine-translated so that we can read it. For that, the subject and the message — and only those — are sent to a translation service (Z.ai / Zhipu AI). Your name, email address and IP address are not sent.
If you would rather your message not go to a translation service, write in Japanese or English, or email info@mkgeeklab.com directly. Nothing that does not pass through the form is translated.
The record we keep of translation usage holds the model name, token counts, cost and duration. It does not hold the text.
Google account data (sending through Gmail)
Inquiry emails are sent from our own Gmail account. To make that possible, an operator authorises the connection once through Google's OAuth flow in the administration area. Only operators of this site do this. Visitors and people sending inquiries never connect a Google account.
We request exactly three permissions.
- gmail.send — to send mail. This permission cannot read a mailbox.
- openid and email — to learn the address of the connected account, so the administration screen can show which account is sending.
How Google data is stored
What we keep from the authorisation is: a refresh token, the connected account's email address, the list of granted permissions, and when and by which operator it was authorised. We do not obtain or keep message contents, contacts, or anything from the mailbox.
The refresh token is held in our own database, on our own servers in Japan. It is never returned through any API and never sent to a browser. Database backups are taken daily and deleted after fourteen days.
Disconnecting from the administration screen deletes the stored token and also revokes the grant at Google. The grant can also be revoked at any time from the Google account's “Third-party apps & services” settings.
Limited Use
MapConductor's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In practice: information received from Google is used only to send the emails that carry and answer inquiries. It is not used for advertising. It is not read by humans. It is not used to train AI or machine-learning models. It is not sold, transferred or rented to anyone.
Children
This site is technical documentation for developers and is not directed at children. We do not intend to collect information from them.
Your choices
You may ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to info@mkgeeklab.com. For anything sent through the contact form, we answer such a request by deleting the email.
Changes to this policy
This document changes when the software does. The date above is updated when it does. Earlier versions remain in this site's repository history.
Languages
This document is maintained in Japanese and English. Pages in the site's other languages show the English version. If the Japanese and English versions differ, the Japanese version governs.
